Steven F Jackson

Judge Fairfield County Municipal Court

Steven F. Jackson was appointed by Governor Bob Taft to be Fairfield County Municipal Court Judge on April 7, 2003. The appointment was necessary because Judge Chris A. Martin left the Municipal Court, having been elected to the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas bench.

Judge Jackson attended Bloom-Carroll schools from kindergarten through his graduation in 1975. His father and mother, Judge S. Farrell Jackson and Ruth Jackson, still reside in Bloom Township. His sister, Cheryl Haynes, is a teacher for Lancaster City Schools.

Judge Jackson was an attorney in private practice in Lancaster from April 1991 until his appointment to Municipal Court. He was also a part-time Assistant Prosecutor in Hocking County, Ohio for over six years and a special Assistant Prosecutor in Circleville Municipal Court for a year and a half. He also served on Lancaster City Council during 1999 and again in 2002 and 2003.

Judge Jackson is a member of the Fairfield County, Hocking County, and Ohio State Bar Associations. He and his wife, Judy reside in Lancaster with their daughters, Heather, a junior at Lancaster High School; Emily, a fourth grader at East Elementary School; and Lydia, age 4, attends preschool at Lancaster City Schools.
